
Shorinji Kempo techniques are broadly separated into three
categories: Juho (soft), Goho (hard), and Pressure point techniques.
Juho
Juho consists of more passive (soft) techniques.
It is comprised of grappling, throwing, escaping, and pinning.
It uses the principle of physical dynamics and effectively take
people down with less energy as possible.
Goho
Goho consists of more aggressive (hard) techniques.
It is comprised of punching, kicking, cutting, and blocking
techniques. Shorinji Kempo emphasizes on the defending first
and counter-attacking on the kyusho (weak point).
Pressurepoint (Seiho/Appo/Kappo)
Shroinjikempo uses 138 pressurepoints to attack
(Appo), resuscitate (Kappo), and rejuvenate (Seiho).
