2010 Founder’s Day Charity Report

Thank you for your participation in Founder’s Day Charity BBQ Party.
We were lucky to have such a beautiful weather which is perfect for a BBQ.

“Founder’s Day” started in 1995 as anniversary of death of Shorinji Kempo Founder, “Doshin So” to enforce his phrase of "Half for one's own happiness, and half for the happiness of others," ("nakaba wa jiko no shiawase wo, nakabaha hito no shiawase wo") through charities. Currently, May is the month of Founder’s Day and each branch picks one day in May to give students opportunity to contribute to the peace of the society through charities.

At Silicon Valley Branch, we had the following 3 charity activities in this year.

1. Donate money collected from parents as reward of your help to charity organization.

2. Collect recycling cans and plastic bottles and donate the money to charity organization.

3. Donate left over money collected for the BBQ Party to charity Organization

We will donate total $384.15 to UNICEF from the 3 charity activities combined with $100 from Temple as reward of our volunteer at their annual Chicken Bazaar.

Thank you for your cooperation on Founder’s Day Charity Activities.

Sincerely,

Shorinji Kempo Founder’s Day Charity Committee
